Who Should Attend
The System's Approach to RFID Implementation class starts with the basics of RFID and delves progressively deeper into the issues that will determine the success or failure of an RFID implementation. The course begins with an overview of a typical RFID system, including hardware, software and installation. A thorough review of standards follows, along with an explanation of the RFID tagging mandates issued by retailers and the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as a discussion of security and privacy issues.
The third day is dedicated to hands-on exercises, where attendees will learn how to install interrogator (reader) antennas, configure interrogators, set up RFID label printers, and troubleshoot systems. Specifically, they will learn to evaluate performance of tags on cases moving on a conveyor, and on pallets moving through a dock door.
This intensive three-day course is designed to give technical professionals the information they need to plan an RFID pilot or initial deployment, evaluate potential vendors and make the right decisions that will lead to a successful installation.
Automatic identification professionals can add new skills to their portfolio and enhance both their career prospects and their value within their own company.
Business professionals and line managers overseeing or closely involved with RFID projects will also benefit from understanding the issues and challenges that need to be overcome to achieve real business value from an RFID system.
